The circuit
Opened in 1953 and made permanent in 1979, the Imola race track hosted the Formula 1 San Marino Grand Prix from 1981 to 2006 and, since 2020, the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, as well as World Superbike and WEC rounds. It is a technical and demanding anticlockwise track, characterised by elevation changes and historic corners such as Tamburello, Tosa, Piratella, Acque Minerali and Rivazza. The motorcycle version is 4,936 m long.
